Caring for your spectacles

The team at Look of Australia know how much of an investment new spectacles can be! With that being said, it is important to make sure your spectacles stay in good condition so you can get the best value.  

Here are some tips and tricks to help keep your spectacles in perfect condition.

  • Use both hands when taking frames off your face. Using this technique will reduce the need for adjustments and hinge wear and tear.

  • Place spectacles in the case when they are not on your face. Do not place your spectacles on your head, face down or in your pocket. You are guaranteed to scratch the lenses.

  • Do not use hot or soapy water to clean your lenses.

  • Clean your lenses daily or whenever they are visibly dirty with a Look of Australia lens cleaning spray!

  • Do not leave your spectacles in a hot car or expose them to excessive heat. This will damage the lens coatings.

  • If you break your frame, it might be repairable! Look of Australia has access to a fantastic repair company that are successful with the trickiest of repairs.

How do I clean my lenses?

1.      Spray each side of your lenses with the Look of Australia cleaning spray. You will require 1-2 sprays per lens.

2.      Wipe the residue with a tissue. Ensure that the tissue does not contain aloe vera or added scents – this will make the lens even dirtier than before!

3.      Polish your lenses with the Look of Australia cleaning cloth
