Karlee
OPTOMETRIST & OWNER
Karlee has been the owner of Look of Australia since 2018, bringing a new focus of ‘eyecare for life’ to Look. Karlee graduated from the University of Auckland in 2006, going on to work in smaller, independent practices as well as many of the big corporate companies and optometry chains before deciding to open her own independent optometrist. Karlee is currently testing 2 days a week.

Tori
OPTOMETRIST
Tori graduated from Optometry with therapeutics in 2016 from Deakin Geelong. Born in the UK, living in Tasmania since she was 14, she moved back to Tassie as soon as she could. Tori enjoys meeting individual’s eyecare and eye health needs, and believes that one size does NOT fit all. Tori is happy to see all varieties of eye conditions and finds this variation helps keep her thinking outside the box and up to date on continued education. She has a particular interest in myopia (short sighted) control, as this can help prevent ocular health issues for individuals in the long term. She is enthusiastic about preventative eyecare management. Tori is active within the optometry community and has historically held positions on the Early Career Optometrist board, Optometry Tasmania board in addition to being the treasurer on the National Optometry Australia board. Outside of work Tori loves getting into the Tasmanian wilderness from hiking to swimming.
Tori will be on Maternity leave from August 2024 and will return in March 2025. -
Elise
OPTOMETRIST
Elise is a therapeutically-endorsed optometrist who has been practising full-time for seven years. Elise is involved in many different areas of optometry and she is passionate about expanding mobile optometry clinics within rural Tasmania. Elise is currently testing 2 days a week at Look.

Karen
OPTOMETRIST
Karen was born and raised in France where she obtained her Optical Dispensing diploma in 1996 and her Master’s of Optometry in 1998 after spending a few months training in a behavioural Optometry practice in Melbourne as part of her French studies. She returned to Australia in 1999 to obtain her Bachelor of Optometry in 2001 at Melbourne University. She started working as a Behavioural Optometrist in Hobart in 2002 in an independently owned practice and became therapeutically endorsed in the same year. When not at work, she spends her time with her partner, young son, two horses and two rescue cats.

Fiona
OPTICAL DISPENSER
Fiona is a Qualified Optical Dispenser completing her studies in 1996 from RMIT. Fiona has worked for Optometry practices in Hobart, Sydney and London. where she mastered her craft of selecting frames, selecting frames for people like Tony Blair; which would be suitable for his prime ministerial public role and yet also withstand intense media scrutiny. Fiona returned to Hobart in 2004 and has been with “Look of Australia” team for the past 18 years building many positive customer relationships.

Mel
OPTICAL DISPENSER
Mel has over 15 years of experience in the optical industry, though optics isn’t her only love, she has a passion for fitness and is a gym instructor on her days off. Mel received her optical dispensing qualification from RMIT in 2015, and has worked in a range of optometrist practices, now bringing this skill and experience to Look of Australia where Mel is now enjoying the freedom of working in an independent optometry practice.

Sue
OPTICAL DISPENSER
Sue started her optical career at age 12 cutting lenses in her optometrist father’s lab. Sue has worked in and managed optometry practices all over Australia, giving her extensive experience in clinical care and exclusive frame design, with a particular interest in advanced multifocal designs. Sue uses her fine arts background and knowledge of exclusive ranges to help her find the perfect frame for every face. when she’s not in the practise, she uses her love of colour to design textiles.

Poppy
OPTICAL ASSISTANT
Poppy has a keen interest in fashion and is always up to date with the latest trends and styles, so she is always ready to help you find your next fabulous frame. When she isn’t at Look of Australia she is probably on stage acting or singing, or perhaps volunteering at Bonorong wildlife sanctuary. Poppy loves glasses that are unique shapes and bright colours, so it makes sense that her favourite glasses brands include Albert I’mstein and Theo eyewear.
